Our ancient cultural knowledge has been lost in transition. People today have little to no idea about our ancient culture, history, and moral values. To educate people on the moral and cultural teachings of our saints and sages, Param Pujjya Sadhguru Dr. S.G. Deshpande (Shri Nana) envisioned a project that would help in educating the people and reaching the masses. Sundar Sanskar and Swadhyay Mandal thus, started its very own quarterly publication – Avalokan in 2009.
The publication aims to help readers seek information about our ancient culture. It covers varied topics, from Holy Scriptures like Vedas, Ramayana, and Mahabharata to Marathi and Sanskrit literature. There are a number of scholars associated with Sundar Sanskar and Swadhyay Mandal who regularly write for the Avalokan. These scholars belong to different regions of Maharashtra. Thus, they touch a versatile subject base and provide deep subject information. They present even the most complex subjects in the easiest languages.
Every year, total four issues of Avalokan are published. The first three are short issues and the last one is a special edition. Initially, the short issue consisted of four pages. Gradually, due to a growing interest of its readers, the short issue turned into being a forty eight page publication. On the other hand, the special edition is a big book with over 250-300 pages. For such special editions, prominent scholars work as guest editors and add value to the publication.
Today, we have changed the lives of over 1500 Avalokan readers!
