Spirituality is the basis of our prosperous life. Life becomes beautiful and finds a meaning through spirituality. According to the founder, Prampujya Sadguru Shri Nana (Dr. Shri. S. G. Deshpande), spirituality has the power to bring out mental and physical changes in a human being. To bring out this overall development in an individual, Sundar Sanskar and Swadhyay are primarily important. Sundar Sanskar are sanskars and Swadhyay is adapting to and practicing these good teachings through studies.
The institution of Sundar Sanskar Swadhyay is established on these principles only. Sanskar helps in bringing out the humanity and goodness of an individual. Swadhyay is the practice that helps in preaching and adapting to the Sanskar that then help to develop the individual as well as the society. Swadhya and Samanway – the balance and compatibility of feelings, thoughts, and emotions – will help in an overall development of our surroundings. Today, the cultural roots are being forgotten and very little is known by the people. Although the youth of today is brilliant and intellectual but they are selfcentered. Thus, they are only experiencing a physical development but not a mental, innerdevelopment.
To encourage today’s youth to choose a path of development and nurture and safe-keep our cultural values through Sanskar and Swadhyay, we have established this institute. With this we aim to offer them an overall mental and physical development.
To make the lives of today’s generation more happening and peaceful, giving them Sundar Sanskar is really important. It is equally important that they revise and practice what is taught as Sundar Sanskar through Swadhyay. For this, they need to read and re-read, practice, and implement these Sundar Sanskar in their day-to-day life. The more people we can spread this to, the better we will be doing for the society, and that is the vision and mission of Sundar Sanskar Swadhyay. The teachings, thoughts, and beliefs of the founder, Prampujya Sadguru Shri Nana are bestowed upon students at Sundar Sanskar Swadhyay. He believed that an individual must develop himself at a physical and mental level to lead a successful and a healthy life. To reach this development, Shri Nana emphasized on introspection. Because after introspection, you will be able to find your own imperfections on which you can work then.
Parampujjya Sadguru Shri. Go. Deshpande is connected to the Gaudīya tradition of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, which is centered on devotion to Lord Krishna.
In this tradition, the main deities are Shri Radha and Krishna, worshipped with deep love and devotion. Dr. Shri. Go. Deshpande received his spiritual initiation (mantra-dīkṣā) from Shri Mahant Shri Charandasji Maharaj, a respected guru in this lineage.
The mission of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was to spread Krishna devotion and make the path of Bhakti (devotion) accessible to everyone. Through Nāma-saṅkīrtana (chanting the holy names of the Lord), he inspired people across Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat to embrace a life of devotion.
The philosophy of this tradition teaches that Lord Krishna is the one Supreme Reality. His powers are beyond human understanding and are explained through the concept of Achintya Bhedābheda—which means the Lord and His powers are both one and different at the same time, in a way that cannot be explained by logic. Lord Krishna is seen as the complete embodiment of six divine qualities: Beauty, Wealth, Strength, Fame, Knowledge, and Renunciation.
In this path, Bhakti (devotion) is considered the highest goal of human life, even greater than the pursuit of wealth, pleasure, or liberation. Bhakti is believed to be the direct expression of Krishna’s divine love and bliss.
Over time, the Gaudīya tradition grew into two streams: the Sakhī-paramparā (the friend-devotee path) and the Mañjarī-paramparā (the maid-servant path). The lineage of Parampujjya Sadguru Shri. Go. Deshpande follows the Sakhī-paramparā, where Mādhuryabhakti (devotion in the mood of love and closeness to Krishna) is considered the highest form of devotion, surpassing even the desire for liberation.
Sundar Sanskar Swadhyay was established in 2003 in Nashik, Maharashtra by the founder, Prampujya Sadguru Shri Nana. The core objectives of this institution are to preserve and nurture the cultural values by bestowing them on the younger generation. By doing so, the institution aims at bettering the life of all the individuals who follow and preach these teachings. The aim is to enlighten their lives through Sanskar and preaching the same through Swadhyay. After seeing the good work by the institution, various other institutes and individuals joined in the institute. Since then, more hands have joined in to contribute into making our youth’s lives better by guiding them to follow a path leading to a better life.
